I’ve been working on many things, from the new job to a new blooming relationship.
So lemme put you up to speed.
-New Job
Loving it! I started on my birthday this year and I have so many roles within the department. I still work in higher education and academics, but this time I’m doing recruitment, marketing, and admissions. So it is a lot, but I do get to travel. It’s making me want to go back into my undergraduate concentration; Communications/PR.
-New Relationship
Well this is old news, but yes he and I are still together. We hit a rocky point recently, but we are working to mend everything through faith, prayer, and just being focused on what is important in our lives. We still love each other very much and we are still going strong…slowly.
-New Projects
I am now a board member of a non-profit organization within the community and am currently in planning stages of beginning “Real Talk Sessions” to teens about education, peer pressure, bullying, and more. Also I’m still deeply rooted and active within my sorority. Now I’m reaching out to my undergraduate chapter WHILE trying to reactivate a chapter here in Houston. I’ve also finished applying for a doctoral program for higher education, but sometimes I wonder if I should bypass that and go another route and stay in higher education, but more on the Marketing and PR side. So I am looking around for MBA programs. Last but not least, I began a successful blog that I can keep up with where I post job opportunities in the Houston area. Since I began the whole job posting-“career counseling” thing, word has spread and people refer their friends to me. Word really travels fast!Â
So yes…many things, but I’m balancing my work life with love life and extra side things WHILE trying to find side hustles to make more money. Still looking. I’m trying to be Miss Jack of All Trades, what my dad would want me to be.

My fraternity brother and spiritual friend needs help funding his education. After a long absence from college (having a beautiful daughter, moving from Mississippi to Houston with very little money, and looking for work), he decided to go back to school this semester and take his LAST CLASS, to earn his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree!
The only problem is in order for him to stay in the class to start next Tuesday, he has to pay $300 as a down payment by this coming Saturday, no later than 2pm!
If you can find it in your hearts and donate (little or lot) or send a prayer, it would really help!
This is a young black man who has overcome much adversity and is working to support his daughter and be the great man he wants to be.
